Več civilne družbe = več demokracije je bila ozaveščevalna in zagovorniška kampanja Socialne akademije, namenjena krepitvi razumevanja vloge nevladnih organizacij (NVO) pri razvoju demokratične družbe. Projekt je nastal kot odziv na povečano negativno javno percepcijo NVO po dogodkih, povezanih z javnimi razpisi za NVO jeseni 2023, ter na pomanjkanje razumevanja njihove zagovorniške vloge in financiranja.

Kampanja se je osredotočala predvsem na katoličane v Sloveniji, segment družbe z visoko stopnjo družbene odgovornosti, a zgodovinsko omejenimi možnostmi in izkušnjami civilnodružbenega delovanja. Projekt je vključeval raziskavo mnenj, aktivacijo mnenjskih voditeljev, spletno in terensko kampanjo ter medijske objave. Cilj akcije je bil prispevati k bolj informiranemu, vključujočemu in aktivnemu državljanstvu ter krepitvi civilne družbe kot temeljnega stebra demokracije.

Kaj smo dosegli

  • Dosegli smo skoraj 2.000 odzivov na kampanjo in s tem bistveno presegli zastavljene cilje ozaveščanja o vlogi nevladnih organizacij.
  • Pri udeležencih dogodkov smo spodbudili opazen premik v razmišljanju, kar potrjuje več kot 150 zbranih odzivov o spremenjenem pogledu na civilno družbo.
  • Vzpostavili smo odprt in varen prostor za dialog, saj smo po Sloveniji izvedli 10 dogodkov v živo z več kot 300 udeleženci.
  • Izvedli smo prvo celovito raziskavo odnosa katoličanov do NVO ter rezultate objavili v dostopni spletni publikaciji.
  • Okrepili smo znanje in razumevanje delovanja NVO, z dvema novima učnima enotama in spremljajočimi video vsebinami.
  • Povečali smo javno prepoznavnost teme, tudi z objavami v osrednjih in ciljno pomembnih medijih.

More Civil Society = More Democracy was an awareness-raising and advocacy campaign implemented by Socialna akademija (Social Academy), aimed at strengthening public understanding of the role of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the development of a democratic society. The project was launched in response to the increased negative public perception of NGOs following the events related to public calls for NGO funding in autumn 2023, as well as widespread misunderstandings regarding their advocacy role and funding.

The campaign focused primarily on Catholics in Slovenia, a segment of society with a strong sense of social responsibility but historically limited opportunities and experience in civil society engagement. The project combined opinion research, the activation of opinion leaders, online and on-the-ground campaigning, and media outreach. Its goal was to contribute to more informed, inclusive, and active citizenship and to strengthen civil society as a fundamental pillar of democracy.

What we achieved

  • We achieved nearly 2,000 responses to the campaign, significantly exceeding the set objectives for raising awareness about the role of non-governmental organisations.
  • We stimulated a noticeable shift in participants’ perspectives at project events, as evidenced by more than 150 collected responses indicating a changed view of civil society.
  • We created an open and safe space for dialogue by organising 10 live events across Slovenia, engaging more than 300 participants.
  • We carried out the first comprehensive study on attitudes of Catholics toward NGOs and published the results in an accessible online publication.
  • We strengthened knowledge and understanding of how NGOs operate through two new learning modules and accompanying video content.
  • We increased the public visibility of the topic, including coverage in major and strategically relevant media outlets.
