"nisi sam" - program zagovorništva za ustrezno pravno obravnavo žrtev s področja varne mobilnosti / "you are not alone" - advocacy program for appropriate legal treatment of victims in the field of safe mobility

Javnost bodo ozaveščali z izvedbo medijske kampanje in prek zagovorništva za zmanjšanje števila prometnih nesreč, s čimer načrtujejo doseči najmanj 200.000 posameznikov v Sloveniji.
  • V aktivnosti bodo vpleteni zaposleni Zavoda Varna pot (3) v sodelovanju z ambasadorji in moderatorji zavoda (5).

After a traffic accident with serious physical consequences or death, unfortunately, there are barriers for victims and/or their families that make it difficult for them to access necessary assistance. In most cases, victims (relatives) do not receive any information about the traffic accident and its consequences, the perpetrators, which prosecutors handle the case, what is happening with the perpetrator, procedures in courts and insurance companies are complex and demanding, compensation for human life is lower than compensation for a broken car, psychological assistance through healthcare is not received or is difficult to access and there are long waiting times.

During the project, Zavod Varna pot will strive for changes in the systems of state bodies. With systematic changes in the judiciary, police, prosecution, insurance companies, social services, and healthcare, they would better support victims of accidents. They would provide shorter and respectful court procedures, quicker and high-quality psychological assistance, and dignified compensation. This would ensure at least minimal standards that would offer victims of traffic accidents thorough, impartial, effective, and consistent support that they need.

What they will achieve: They want to help target groups (courts, healthcare, police, insurance companies, education) understand that the only key to change and results is mutual cooperation and respect. The goal is to conduct at least 10 meetings and 5 workshops tailored to the specific target groups, where they will discuss why it is important to ensure minimal standards in procedures for victims of traffic accidents and issues in the field of safe mobility. They find it difficult to predict the number of beneficiaries in advance. They aim to influence the general awareness of behavior, practices, and the culture of safe mobility in Slovenia. They will raise awareness among the public through a media campaign and advocacy to reduce the number of traffic accidents, planning to reach at least 200,000 individuals in Slovenia. Employees of Zavod Varna pot (3) will be involved in the activities, along with ambassadors and moderators of the organization (5). Representatives from the field of psychology (2) will also be involved in the implementation. They aim to create educational programs for victims, professional services of state bodies, and organizations and the adoption of certain legislative resolutions, amendments, and regulations in various areas. Findings about the state before and after the project will be documented in two separate reports, which will be publicly released.
